Subject: #2470: PROP FOR 184 CHAMP /W 150EFI MERC

WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT PROP WOULD BE BEST FOR 184 CHAMP WITH 150 EFI MERC. PLANING ON 6" MANUEL JACK PLATE IN SPRING. RUNNING A TURBO PROP NOW WHICH ISN'T MARKED WHAT PITCH. ALSO WHAT ENGINE HEIGHT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND. THIS IS FOR A FRIEND'S FIRST GLASS BOAT. THANKS.

    23 pitch Tempest. Set center of prop shaft 3.5" below the pad to begin with ( with plate ). You need to look to achieve 5600 rpm's out of the EFI in the summer and 58 or so in the winter. While the prop is stock remove 2 of the PVS plugs for summer holeshot and put them all back in for winter use.

    Thanks Rich, Hope to get more speed out of the Champ, My friend is use to my Pantera II, 200 EFI. It runs out at 70-73 mph depending on temp.

    Thanks again , We'll try it in the spring.
